"Can we TALK about the Squeezebox Stompers? I mean, HOLY COW!! Please pass along our deepest gratitude to your band for bringing us the sounds of New Orleans - people were RAVING about it!! I just wish I could have taped the whole night. You really added that authenticity to our Mardi Gras - you were TOTALLY AWESOME!! THANK YOU!!".... Habitat for Humanity . We're an acoustic roots band featuring accordion, National steel guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bass and drums. Our music includes an eclectic mix of country blues, zydeco, celtic, cajun, ballads, and original tunes. We aim to get your toes a tappin'. Ralph
Tufo plays the accordion, piano, Anglo concertina and Cajun accordion.
Ralph was a founding member of the Boogaloo Swamis who were 4 time Boston
Music Award winners. The Swamis were largely responsible for the introduction
of Cajun, Zydeco, and New Orleans music to New England . They toured and
recorded extensively. In addition to performing for over 30 years, Ralph
has been a prolific songwriter, with over 40 songs to his credit. Paul
Harty “was bitten by the Folk Bug” as a teenager in the 1960’s
and has never recovered. Country, Celtic, blues, bluegrass, Cajun, Zydeco
and old rock and roll are a few of his interests. Paul sings and plays
guitar, harmonica, fiddle, mandolin and banjo, among others. He seems
to to believe he is humorous. Occasionally he writes a song, too. Larry
Plitt is the proud winner of the 2007 Boston Folk Festival Singer/ Songwriter
contest. He's been playing acoustic guitar and bass since age 13. His
playing is rooted in the Piedmont and Delta blues styles but is also peppered
with Cajun, Zydeco, Celtic and classical influences. He loves singin'
the blues. As a veteran of the San Fransisco folk rock scene of the early
70's, he played in a number of interesting but obscure bands.
Ron Chane is a multi instrumentalist and unrepentant rock and roller. He played bass with Boston's popular Catalinas holding down the chair for 22 years. After buying a standup bass a few years ago, Ron found himself in demand as an acoustic musician. He played guitar, mandolin and Bass with Down Dog and is the newest member of the Squeezebox Stompers. Ron has appeared on stage with Little Steven Van Zandt, as well as members of the Outlaws , Orleans and Boston. |
