The Squeezebox Stompers are a Boston area Americana Roots band. They have performed Cajun, Zydeco, Blues, Folk, and originals all over New England for the past 15 years. Members of the band have received Boston Music Awards and Songwriting Awards. They are noted for their step-lively up-beat music inspiring audiences to get up and dance.

 

Their instrumentation includes accordion, keyboards, fiddle, saxophone, harmonica, penny whistle, guitar, bass, and drums. They guarantee a Rockin' good time at family- friendly outdoor events, clubs, dances, or private parties. Depending on the venue and the event, the band can perform with 3-6 members.

Ralph Tufo

Ralph plays the accordion, piano, Anglo concertina and Cajun accordion. Ralph was a founding member of the Boogaloo Swamis who were 4 time Boston Music Award winners. The Swamis were largely responsible for the introduction of Cajun, Zydeco, and New Orleans music to New England . They toured and recorded extensively. In addition to performing for over 30 years, Ralph has been a prolific songwriter, with over 50 songs to his credit.

Larry Plitt

Larry is the proud winner of the 2007 Boston Folk Festival Singer/ Songwriter contest. His playing is rooted in the Piedmont and Delta blues styles and peppered with Cajun, Zydeco, Celtic and classical influences. He loves singin' the blues. As a veteran of the San Fransisco folk rock scene of the early 70's, he played in a number of bands including Camp Granada and the Stephen Fiske Band.

Bert Syms

Bert is a Boston area Drummer & Music Producer. He's Played with Tavares and has shared the stage with, the Jackson5, the BeeGees, Chaka Kahn, KC and The Sunshine Band, Lou Rawls,  and the Ojays.

Bert has worked locally with James Montgomery, Taylor Made, the Soul Rockers and the Walker Band. He was producer for “The Act, Everybody’s Getting Into It”  a comedy music troop and  recently produced John Walker Jr's Album “The Whole Damn World Has Got The Blues".

Geoff Wadsworth

Geoff has been a professional musician and recording engineer for over thirty years. He currently performs with The Squeezbox Stompers, The Monks of Funk, and a variety of other excellent musicians. He has performed with Ben E. King, The Coasters, Chuck Berry, The Drifters, The Boogaloo Swamis, The Walker Band, and The Eyes. Geoff is a graduate of Berklee College of Music.

Jeff O'Neil

Jeffrey O’Neil a.k.a.  O’Cello, a.k.a. J.O. is a bassist, cellist and vocalist. He’s been playing music in the Boston area for the last 40 years. He recently retired from teaching music education in Newton, MA. Jeff loves to play a variety styles of music. His experience includes performing Old Time string music, Afro Pop, and Funk. He’s currently a member of the Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra. He performs solo cello under the name, O’Cello.

Art Schatz

Art  has been a mainstay fiddler on the Boston country and bluegrass scene for over 30 years with a style that ranges from folk/Cajun to classic Country, Blues and Swing. One of the newest members of the Squeezebox Stompers, Art also plays with the Beantown Buckaroos and Foggy Mountain Consort, and teaches fiddle privately and at workshops throughout New England.
